The Power of Your Beliefs

Beliefs are like infrastructure which we create in our mind. Be a creative architect and keep renovating the structures which resonate with your dreams and your utmost personality.

Healthy parenting and family environment is a primary aspect of our core belief system and proper growth of an infant mind. In the initial years of our lives, we behave like a sponge who absorbs the energy and patterns from our environment, our parents and our culture which directly enters our subconscious mind. The first 6 years of an infant are quite crucial for his basic perception of life. But let’s face the reality, not everyone is blessed with the kind of families that provide the appropriate environment for an infant which provides affection and nurtures their thinking and beliefs appropriately. Many children witness a lot of traumatic experiences at a very early age such as Alcoholism, constant family conflicts, inflamed relationships which makes them vulnerable to different disguised and ambiguous patterns which in turn becomes unresolved emotions. You may think that these are just little emotions bottled up from the past but please take note that these little emotions are the great captain (autopilot) of our lives and we obey them without even realizing it. This captain tells us what we are worth. This captain is our belief system. We are shaped by our thoughts and we become what we think.

Our beliefs are like microchips which are driving force for the physiological actions of our body. Beliefs are stories that we hear constantly. Let’s understand it with an illustration, suppose if your family constantly says that cancer runs in our genes and that’s where you believe it, as a consequence you increase your probability to inculcate this disease may be in long run, but what if those family members every day says to you that yes our ancestors might have died through cancer but you won’t, every time you hear this story and eventually your brain fix it as the belief that you won’t have it (cancer) and as a physiological reaction to your belief you maintain a healthy body throughout your life. Our mind can reform our thoughts, behaviour and eventually our beliefs with constant efforts and constant stories around your belief system. Thus, our belief system has the capacity or power to dominate our lives with the same narratives either good or bad.

Have you ever felt that despite making all your efforts you are not able to achieve your goal, your purpose or whatsoever you want in your life?  If yes, then we are going to understand here in this article how we can change our belief system.

Our beliefs/values are so deeply rooted that we sometimes voluntarily keep a negative mindset, our thought process makes us stumble every time, our mind is always lingering in the trap of the false consequences. You must have heard many people around you blaming luck, fate, God or anything they can blame for their shortcomings which is not a good habit in the long run.

It is all about Willpower. Learn 7 effective tips to increase willpower.

How can we change our belief system?

Here are some practical ways to change/alter your belief system and to aim happiness, success and positive mindset:-

  1. Give yourself the Target/Goal:- Every time you want anything in your life. Aim for it religiously. For example:- If you make a goal of building a nice physique or losing weight, make small targets for it. You start with 10 push-ups or sit-ups for a day and increase your frequency in a phased manner to achieve your final goal as per your deadline.

  2. Your Association:-  When we are clear with our goal then, we shall immediately start connecting, networking or associating with people with the same interests, this activity will help you get closer to your goal.

  3. Manifest your Imagination:- Creating positive mental images in your mind before the physical reality of the goal will keep you motivated to reach faster. I dare you to live it in your thoughts so that when you have reached your goal, you are reliving it. Wink ;)

  4. Lastly, Talk to Your Brain/Mind Every Day:- As to keep good and healthy relationships we communicate every day with our parents, spouses or children, friends etc, in the same way, we need to keep ourselves in sync with our mind. It is the most influential activity in the long run to change your beliefs about ideas, people, fears, etc.

Life is a master game of your viewpoint, your perception, your reaction to the stimuli. Everything that goes around in your head is just a matter of choice of your mind, your belief system that how you pick information from the environment and how your mind process it, that whether this world is working for you or against you.

In last, I request you to ask yourself below questions to contemplate your conscious mind:-

  • What is your limiting/negative belief today?

  • How are you planning to break it?

I empower you to transform and break all the chains.

Just remember:-“ Your reality is a reflection of your strongest belief”

What Is Self-Transcendence and How to Reach It?

“ She is happy Because every day she tries And actually does A little more than she thinks she can ” Self-transcendence, in short, is self-actualization or self-awareness. This word always created an enigma in my mind that how can I be self-aware.  All great leaders like Mother Teresa, Bill Gates, could visualize and see the world beyond their individual self. Many pieces of research revealed that attaining transcendence is like an expansion of your perspective or rising above of individual self. You have to know and believe that you are a small part of the greater things of the universe. In psychological terms, self-transcendence is a personality trait. A person who is aiming to be the best version of themselves whilst improving his surroundings to make the world a better place achieves the highest level of holistic consciousness . Humans find reasons that encourage them to transcend and by these experiences, they reach to peak new experiences and feels in which they transcend strong

The Bottleneck of your Emotions

“ You can't have your cake and eat it too” In simpler terms, it means that you can’t have it both ways. We’ll come back to this in a minute. In my last article, The Power of your Beliefs , we learned that we may carry many significant emotions from our childhood,  ones which are the foundation of our life stories are so repressed and bottled up deep in our minds that we happen to fall in the trap of its vicious cycle without even acknowledging that why we have this puzzled feelings again and again, which eventually can lead to struggles in certain areas of your life say, love, work, friendship, family or money. Do you go cold feet on your interview day for which you prepared so well? Words aren't coming out of your mouth? Any area of your life for which you always struggle repetitively? Do you feel circling in an endless loop? Do you feel paralyzed? Sometimes these emotional blockages are so hard to recognise, addressing them would be a light year ahead. Modern life is full of
